Just the stats: 63 miles, 17.2 MPH average, mostly flat land now with rolling hills, cumulative 1,553 miles. No flats today, eight in total. Sunshine, 63 to 84 degrees.
As my father-in-law is famous for saying "It could have been worse".
Today I had my first biking accident. I am OK now, just scratches, cuts and bruises. Thirty miles into a very nice day, as I was riding in a pace line, a rider who was stopped on the side of the road knocked the rider two positions in front of me to the ground, the guy in front of me swerved out of the way, I then hit the downed bike. I did a somersault over my handlebars, doing a forward roll like fall. My bike was messed up but was fixed so I rode on.
I know He is taking care of me and I am grateful for his mercy today. I am blessed to be covered by so much prayer, I can feel it and I thank you all.
The other rider was shook up enough that he had to stop riding for the day. His back was hurt but he is feeling much better now. His bike was fixed and he rode the next day.
The last 30 miles I rode by myself at a medium speed. I enjoyed the bright blue sky along with the deep green of the fields and trees. I had a lot of blessings to count.
This is one of my favorite pictures. This is a common sight along side the road. This puffy headed grass waving in the wind. It's my indicator for wind direction. When it is pointing the way I am heading, I am a happy rider. Click on the picture to get a bigger version.

Tom, what a blessing you are safe and your bike is still in good working order! We'll keep on praying you home. We are seeking the Lord for favorable weather, safe passage on each leg of the trip, awesome opportunities to worship, increased memory for your scripture each day, and lots of FUN along the way. Keep rolling!

Angie - Thanks. Those are my prayers also as well as opportunities to witness. The fields are ripe but some hearts are hard. Pray that I may reach them.
