Another early morning pace line which I dropped out of after 28 miles so I could slow down and enjoy the scenery.
Just the stats: 73 miles, 14.7 MPH average, flat land. Cumulative 2,371 miles. No flats today, eight in total. Sunny, 70 to 93 degrees. Similar scenery to yesterday...farmland, corn, and woodland.
Today was a relatively short ride - 73 miles. Our ride out of Crawfordsville took us through farmland with more corn.
Our SAG stop was at a dairy farm where corn and soybeans are grown. The Gentry family has let Crossroads use their front yard for our "refueling" station for six years now. They have large shade trees, and they put out chairs for us to relax on. Also, members of the Indianapolis Bike Club were there to greet us.
Here is a picture of me trying to slap a bull. (Not at the Gentry farm.) The bull kept running away from me so I still have to keep trying. This is my second attempt, a few days ago, those bulls ran from me also. Next time I guess I will have to sneak up on him.
I called the Indianapolis Speedway to see if I could visit it and ride my bike there. They thought I was a nut and hung up on me.
But, along the way we were able to visit the Velodrome where bike competitions are held. If you've ever seen Olympic bike races you may have seen some held on a round track with very steeply sloping sides. That's a velodrome. The people who run it opened it just for our group and we were allowed to ride on it.
The next five days are longer rides. This should be a tough stretch to ride. Please continue to keep me in your prayers. Thanks.

Are you sure it wasn't a cow?
Go, Tom, go! Love those pictures of corn!
Tom,
Don't chase Bulls, put your red jersy on and let them chase you. Sounds like you are in the zone now with this bike ride.
So, Bub, who's smarter, you or the bull?
Toro, Toro, Uncle Tom! Make sure you have your running shoes on when you slap the bull.
