Just the stats: 111 miles, 17.4 MPH average. Started riding at 7:50 am, finished at 2:45 pm - 6 hours 26 minutes riding time. Sunny, a cool 47 degrees in the morning warming up to 74 degrees by 2 pm. Humidity around 57*. Calories burned on the ride - 6,634.
I didn't carry my camera today. I wanted to travel light and ride efficiently today. 111 miles is a long haul and I had to make getting through safely as my priority.
Today was a hard day to ride, any day you ride 111 miles is a hard day! We rode at least 60 miles on four lane 55 mph divided highways (like 11-E in Tenn or I-70 north of Frederick- without the hills). We had our share of headwinds. This is what I trained for so with perseverance and the Lords protection, we made it.
This post will be short because I need to rest and prepare for tomorrows 117 mile ride to Charleston, NC. This weekend is "Bike Week" (as in motorcycle's) here in the Myrtle Beach area. We have been told there will be over 300,000 bikers in town tomorrow so we have to be extra careful riding out of here tomorrow. We expect to encounter heavy traffic most of the day.
Yesterday: 86 miles, today 111 miles and tomorrow 117 miles = 304 miles in three days.
Keep me in your prayers - please. I won't be carrying a camera tomorrow either. When I get through this part of the ride, I will have more time in two days.

Hi Tom: I sure will be praying for you as I have been. Tomorrow is our turkey dinner and it won't be the same without you there seating everyone.
Take care and we will all be glad when you are back in MD. I know Yvonne must miss you. You are such a dear couple and I am always so happy to see you both at church.

304 miles in three days is INSANE. I wish you flat land and tail winds the whole way. Try not to get into any biker rumbles while you're at it. Stay safe!
