Just the stats: 48 miles, 19.1 MPH average. Started riding at 9 am, finished at 11:45 am - 2 hours 32 minutes riding time. Sunny, 65 degrees in the morning warming up to 82 degrees. Calories burned on the ride - 3,175. My average heart rate during this ride was 119 bpm.

What a difference a day makes. With the wind at our backs, Gordon and I flew today. A short ride that was pure fun. Good roads and warm weather made for a quick trip to Savannah, GA.
.
We got into Savannah at 11:45 am after getting a late start at 9 am. So, I got to sleep in, I ate breakfast and had a short training ride. We ate lunch early, I cleaned my bike, had my bottom bracket (where the pedals are) greased, showered, took a nap and hope to finish this blog early.

I'm trying to ignore the stock market news, boy what a mess that is.

When you have your health you have everything.
.
Here are three healthy riders. I'm with Marion and Fred Shaw. Marion is all of 100 pounds with not an ounce of fat on her - she looks 50 but is 67, she is an amazingly strong rider. He husband Fred is 71 and also a very strong rider (Marion is strongest).

So there you are. Tomorrow is a rest day, then we ride four more days and I fly home on Sunday Oct. 11th.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the comments.

It was neat to see my cousin Ellen is even following my ride. Hi to you Ellen, Randy, Claudia and Aunt Ginnie in Cincinnati. Maybe when I was 4 years old and told Uncle Russ "tunney miles an hour Uncle Russ, tunney miles an hour", it was a prediction of how fast I would ride my bike.

You're looking crispy. Don't forget the sunscreen.
Lookin' good Brotha' I bet you wake up every day and think, "Man, I wish I was still a mortgage broker."
I told Reid that we have to get together for a debrief. I will fill you in on my trip to Yosemite earlier this month.
Rob,
Let's get together when I get back next week.

Hi Tom:
I am going to miss checking your blog every day. I usually check it in the mornings and at night before I go to bed. You have been so good sending updates and the pictures I really enjoy. Maybe I will see you on the 19th at church. I'm so glad you had no touble along your journey.
